CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AND INSPECTIONS FOR BOCA RATON AIRPORT RUNWAY 5-23 (TAXIWAY ‘P’ REHABILITATION).

Project Description

ADA provided construction management and administration services and provided oversight of three (3) field inspectors and the QA laboratory during the milling and resurfacing of Runway 5-23, Taxiway ‘P’ and five (5) associated runway connectors, construction of a new Midfield Runway/Taxiway Connector and relocation and improvements of the ATCT/airfield perimeter service road including security enhancements (i.e., fencing, access gates, card reader, cameras and integration of new features into the existing security system).

ADA’s daily responsibilities included but were not limited to, disposition of bid alternates, processing of material submittals, shop drawings, change orders, resolution of contractors RFIs, and direction of quality assurance. The program was funded through seven (7) funding sources, including American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grants, to accommodate one (1) construction contract, therefore strict accounting, documentation and filing procedures were established to maintain clear distinction of work performed and personnel employed for each respective source. ADA supervised and coordinated contractor installation of burrowing owl protection measures and insured protection of active nests during construction and also facilitated the relocation of several burrowing owl nests in compliance with all applicable permit requirements defined in the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Burrowing Owl Nest Removal Permit.
