ADA participated in the 2018 Mercedes Benz Corporate Run held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 in Downtown Miami, Florida. The Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run Series is an institution in South Florida and is one of the largest 5K races in the nation. The purpose of the Corporate Run Series is to promote running and walking as a means to a fit, healthy lifestyle for people from all walks of corporate life. It takes all of us working together to create more educated, prosperous and healthy communities, and ADA was proud to share in realizing that vision for our community. Interconnected Pond Routing (ICPR) Applications Workshop
On Wednesday, June 14, 2017, Alex Vazquez, PE, CFM and Abbie Wilson, PE presented, as part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s Pond Design Course. Alex, Abbie and Ricardo Salazar, PE, FDOT District 6 Drainage Engineer, led an Interconnected Pond Routing (ICPR) Applications Workshop to show how to apply the latest modeling techniques using ICPR Versions 3 & 4.
The Pond Design Course content included an overview of regulatory requirements and a discussion of water quality methods with emphasis on wet detention. Rainfall, design storms, the NRCS curve number runoff method, and the storage indication method which will be used for pond routing were topics that were also addressed.
The Pond Design Course which was held for consultants, agencies and FDOT staff, was held at the FDOT District 6 office located 1000 NW 111 Avenue, Miami, FL 33172.
National Small Business Week 2017
ADA participated in National Small Business Week and attended a Small Business Expo held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 by the Miami-Dade County’s Business Outreach and Education Unit of Small Business Development (SBD) (a division of the Internal Services Department). The purpose of the Business Expo was to provide a platform for Miami-Dade County certified SBE firms to have an exhibit table to showcase their business, the service or goods they can offer to Miami-Dade County departments, municipalities, prime contractors, and/or the local business community, as well as to highlight their skillsets and areas of expertise. The event took place at the AIA Miami Center for Architecture & Design, located at 100 NE 1st Ave, Miami, FL 33132.
ADA is a Miami-Dade County certified Small Business Enterprise for both Architectural & Engineering (A/E) and Goods & Services (SBE/GS).
